Pain Management

Whether you're 6 weeks, 6 months or 6 years postpartum, this course teaches you pain management techniques to implement in your day to day life to bring pain and sensitivity down.

Exercise

When people are in pain, particularly when they've been in pain for weeks or months, they tend to limit movement. This program uses movement to help bring your pain down. Our program focuses on strengthening your glutes, core and balance while improving flexibility in the front body to bring your pain down and your confidence in your body, up.

Scar Massage & Desensitization Techniques

Each week you'll learn scar massage and desensitization techniques that you or a partner can use to reduce muscle guarding, sensitivity in the tissue surrounding your scar while improving scar and fascial mobility.

This program is for anyone:

+ Experiencing c-section scar pain

+ Interested in optimizing c-section scar recovery

+ Not sure where to begin their c-section recovery

+Experiencing chronic c-section scar pain, defined as pain persisting past 3 months postpartum

+Who has developed an aversion to touching or looking at their scar

+Who has had a c-section and is looking for support

Curriculum


+ C-Section Recovery, Scars & Pain
  • This section helps you understand what a c-section really is and it's impact on your body, along with setting expectations for how long pain should last and why in some folks, pain becomes chronic. We'll then dive into how we address chronic pain, when we can start working on the scar and what we can do about c-section scar shelves.


+ 10 ways to manage pain & support healing in your early weeks
  • This section dives into pain management and recovery support for those in their early recovery weeks. This is for anyone taking this course within the first 6 weeks post operatively. This section will talk through red flags and warning signs, pain management tools and introduce gentle, foundational movement to help bring your pain down while giving you active options to support your body. Rest is important in the early weeks, but that doesn't mean there aren't steps we can take to support healing.

+ Prior to beginning
  • This section is where everyone will start, no matter how long it has been since your c-section. This section will teach you the foundational movements we'll be building on throughout the rest of the program, along with teaching you some simple postural changes and scar desensitization protocols to bring down your scar sensitivity and help your body start feeling better!

+ 6 week program
  • Our 6 week program provides you with weekly scar massage and exercise progressions to help decrease pain and sensitivity. We'll do this by guiding you through progressive movements to improve scar mobility, glute and abdominal strength, posture as well as hip and spine mobility. Our weekly program can be modified to take 10-30 minutes, 3-5 times a week.
